Baby's brain is still developing rapidly, and his skin has taken on a paler shade thanks to a thicker layer of fat around the blood vessels. (Don't worry; he'll change color again soon after birth.) He's now able to flex his limbs, and his nails might extend past his fingertips.
Well, I didn't think I could get much bigger...but these pictures don't lie. My gosh. So we have pretty much everything we need (and a bunch of stuff we DON'T need but wanted/got anyway haha we got a little excited). We are having fun having everything set up and just waiting. Other than being huge and having to rest, I still have lots of energy and can keep going! I better save some for after the baby is born! My mom is here and we have been doing all sorts of house things like fixing up curtains, cooking lots of things for the freezer, crafty decorations for the nursery, and of course some shopping. I guess I could have changed into a non-dingy tank top for the photos...too bad, this is what you get!
My dr. appointment was fine this week and I was sitting at 2cm dilated (he said I looked way too comfortable to have progress....but you can be 2cm for weeks so I am not too concerned with that). He also re-affirmed that they don't want me to go past 1 week overdue (which I am perfectly ok with!) and that I looked great with no swelling. I did get in trouble for not turning in my pre-registration paperwork to the hospital though...oops! I will do that this week. Oh yah, and find a pediatrician. Still slacking on that one. In my defense, I tried today but no one will do pre-consultations, they are all different hospitals since Mary Birch isn't the closest hospital to our house (therefore won't come to the hospital when he is born), and we can't make an appointment until we know when he will be born...so my search was somewhat futile. I decided to ask for some recommendations from the neighborhood and see where that leads us.

We got a new treat yesterday - a Deuter Kid Comfort II. We used our REI 20% coupon and our $46 dividend check...so we got almost 100$ off when it was all said and done :) Pretty good in my opinion, even though we won't need the carrier for several months until he can hold his head up. We do a lot of trail hiking and needed something more sturdy and weight bearing than the bjorn/ergo type carriers. Some people in REI let us "borrow" their 10 month old so Jordan could feel the backpack with him in it. It was much better than the Kelty one becuase he couldnt reach the back of our heads and mess with our hair. I read a bunch of reviews and this seems to be the best for our needs...can't wait to try it out for real! Might even mean more mountains in our future...in a few years :)
The weather has been so nice we have even hung out in the back yard and the beach. Can't wait to see what the next week brings, every time we call anyone they start to freak out and ask if its time. Not yet, but anytime would be OK with me! As you can see...I can't get much bigger. I will post some bonus pictures of my huuuuge belly on the beach from Sunday once the camera adapter comes with my dad tomorrow from WA.
