As baby's skin smoothes out, her brain just keeps getting more wrinkled. All those grooves and indentations increase surface area, meaning more room for that oh-so-essential brain tissue. She's also adding some brawn -- her grip is now strong enough to grasp a finger.
So I am late in posting and too lazy to find the camera cord to post a picture. Oh well. We moved this weekend so things are everywhere and I am exhausted! Luckily my parents were in town, our friends helped, and my business trip got postponed for this week so I can relax and organize after work.
My doctors appointment went well last Friday. They told me I need to do kick counts (count up to 10 movements within an hour - any hour - during the day). If I don't get my 10 movements I have to drink something sugary like juice or have ice chips to try to wake the baby up and try again. If that doesn't work I have to go to the hospital and get hooked up for monitoring :( I hope it doesn't come to that point...but we do have an active baby! I usually get my 10 within the first 5 minutes so I am feeling good...of course I start feeling him move and decide then is when I will start counting, but whatever. I was also told that 6 weeks from now (almost 5 now!) if labor starts they will NOT try to stop it since I will be full term. OH WOW. I knew that, just had not processed it fully! So we could meet the little guy any time between 5 and 11 weeks from now! Exciting times!
I feel fine, just tired in general and growing bigger every day. I am starting to feel enormous. I am sleeping pretty well still at least. My major conundrum is that I went online to buy the crib bedding last night and the bumper is on back-order until MAY! NOOOOO! That can't happen, I check the other day! Oh well...back to square one. It was the only bedding I really liked so maybe someone else can find something similar...I don't want something really themed, I like neutral or shapes rather than trucks etc. Here is the one I wanted.
Any suggestions?? I had my heart set and now I am lost.
