Crisis Averted!

Crib bedding update!

Well, Land of Nod doesn't have stores in CA, so I had completely written off the idea of calling and picking up if they had the bedding in stock. However, all the stores are in Illinois EXCEPT one store in UVillage (Seattle). My mom called and the store has the bumper in stock, is holding it until Saturday, and she can get it then! I just ordered the rest of the pieces online that were not out of stock (quilt, bed skirt, and pillow for the rocker). The sheets are now out of stock too and I think I will see if the store has one I can add to the pick-up. I just wanted one to be able to match the color so it isn't really a big deal if they don't have it.

Ahhh, happy day, I get my bedding after all :)

Now CA state taxes eating up almost ALL of our first time home buyers tax credit, no bedding purchase can make up for that. BOOO to CA state taxes. At least we bought a house or else we would be in for a real treat of a tax bill!

Oh AND we scheduled our carpet install finally. So after next week we can finally get the beds in bedframes with fresh non-stained carpet and set up the crib! Hopefully we bought nice enough carpet that the cats can't destroy it...although I am not holding my breath. Brats. This purchase was also a little sweeter when we thought our tax credit was paying for our carpet. Ahhh homeownership :) (side-note: its not that we can't afford it, it was just more fun of a purchase when we thought it was "free" from our tax credit. Guess we should really start thinking about those 5h-is months that I won't be getting my full salary!)

Oh AND 50 (calendar) days until maternity leave. Not that I am counting or anything hehe.

So there you go, that was my day (and my business trip got postponed, woo hoo)! Happy Wednesday everyone!

  1. Hooray for finding your crib bedding!!!! :)

And I totally feel your pain on the tax thing. I thought that the homebuyer credit was going to help us out this year, but no - we STILL owe! What a blow. :( The joys of being an adult, huh?

    I've got 80 days to go....I already can't wait!
