Week 27 - Eggplant + New Years!

Well, I slacked and missed the bump's 27 week spiel on the eggplant! Sorry, just look at last week!

We spent New Years still up with Jordan's family and loved the feast, fireworks, and celebration! I actually made it to midnight (a huge feat in my book) after a second wind due to the Millenio's boxes his family had made in 1999. So cool to see what everyone was interested in/what was current a whole decade ago! It really made Jordan and I reflect on the last decade and realize how different it has been than either of us expected - although much better in both cases. Can't wait to see what the next decade (or year for that matter...) has in store for us...by 2020 we will have a 9 year old!

It has been a bit of a shock to come back to work/real life after such a long relaxing break, but this week is pretty busy with house finalization, business trips, dr. appointments and all around getting back into the swing of things. Hopefully we will have keys to our house this Thursday and can at least bring over a few loads of the things that have piled up in our guest room since we decided to buy...aka everything we are too lazy to put away :-) It is a bit of a mess, plus we have accumulated some large things such as the cradle, rocking chair, crib mattress, etc. that all seem to have made their way to sitting on the guest bed. Next is cleaning, a few simple repairs, painting, moving, and getting settled....woo hoo!

I have also realized that - oh my - I have less than 3 months! Everything for so long has been "oh after then new year we can get to that" and now the new year is here! Guess I better get my butt in gear. I have put basically all things baby on hold until we move and then we can get the nursery painted and the crib set up sans bedding and it will seem more real. There are so many preparations that need to happen now I just need a day to sit down, think, make a list, and really understand what I need to do still - one would think that during my 11 days of break I could have done this but that would have been no fun haha.

One big thing on my mind is the childbirth prep series through the hospital. It is a 6 week course that is supposed to be completed 3-ish weeks prior to your due date. Problem with this is that Jordan is traveling potentially a lot in February which falls right into that 6 week period. So we basically have to start it next week in order to have him miss the least amount of classes. Then there is the fact that I have some work trips thrown in that might not match a Tuesday night course therefore making me miss classes too which defeats the point of signing up, being WAY early in taking the class and feeling awkward, etc. UGH sometimes its stressful to be so Type-A :-) Anyway, the things on my mind are: needing to get basically...everything...that is needed for a baby, classes (want to do a breastfeeding one as well), coming up with a birth plan since I have really NO idea what I want, figuring out visits from all the *grand*parents - which I want all of them to be there and am stressed out that the hospital might only let 2 people per day in (including Jordan as one of them! - hopefully this is just a rumor...I really am not OK with this rule...), hospital bag, general not knowing if he will be late, early, on-time, ugh! OK so maybe I just need to figure EVERYTHING out and am a little premature in my freak out mode. I will now step back, breathe, and get through buying the house before I worry about the rest!

Ok that wasn't really the point of the post. The point was to say we had a great trip up north and had a wonderful firework display at midnight complete with homemade piccolo pete explosions - FYI you get a much better boom with a plastic Sobe fusion bottle :) I hope everyone has a great week and I promise to post belly photos tomorrow when I am back from my mini-trip and am on my full laptop (I did add photos to the 26 week post though). I will work on some of my items and post my progress!

Oh and I am well aware that I did not re-read anything after I wrote this post. My brain is mush after my meeting today and I really could care less about my grammar and sentence structure right now - sorry!
