Baby's now the size of a banana!Baby gulps down several ounces of amniotic fluid every day, both for hydration and nutrition and to practice swallowing and digesting. And, these days, those taste buds actually work! Studies show that after birth, babies are most interested in tastes they've already experienced through amniotic fluid. Meaning, think about what you want your future child to eat as you prepare your own lunch.
I had my monthly appointment this week and am happy to report a 5-pound gain (while it feels like 10) and great results on my genetic screening and anatomy scan. I am low risk for downs syndrome and trisomy whatever it is. They also said he is growing great and nothing to report from all of the ultrasound measurements. I asked about hospital tours and that will come at the beginning of 3rd trimester...which I am having a hard time believing that that is...SOON! I also learned I get to do my glucose test next appointment which means I get some good reading time after I drink a sugary drink and wait an hour to do blood work. They test for Gestational Diabetes...hopefully I pass so I don't have to do the 3-hour test (or be unhealthy...but I'll be honest...right now I'm all about how things affect me at that particular moment so really I just don't want to have to do another test)!

Little Thor is moving around and happy (I think) and will enjoy a flight up to Seattle for Thanksgiving tomorrow. Jordan was out of town this last week so you can guess how productive I was...I can't say I did much around the house but I did do a lot of TV watching and got a start on my Christmas shopping. That's all for now, my dad has a meeting in town tomorrow and some extra upgrade passes so we all get to travel together first class style. Ahhh my back and legs will much appreciate the change :-)
