Baby gulps down several ounces of amniotic fluid every day, both for nutrition and to practice swallowing and digesting. And, these days, those taste buds actually work! Studies show that after birth, babies respond best to tastes they've already had via amniotic fluid. Meaning, think about what you'd like your future child to eat as you prepare your own lunch.
Well, we are HALF WAY! I can't believe it, it has gone by so fast. I can't wait to see the changes in my body and attitude over the next half :) This week was good, nothing out of the ordinary though. We started our registry yesterday at Babies R Us and man...it was overwhelming! We both just had to stop and leave after a little while due to overall brain mush so we obviously have some cleanup to do. Jordan will be out of town in Orlando for work Tuesday - Sunday so I may try to start Target then...or may be lazy! (Sidenote...Jordan thinks that the amniotic fluid thing is gross. I also told him the baby could hear him talking so he decided to tell the little one to stop drinking amniotic fluid becuase that is just nasty. Boys...)

Jordan's birthday was last Tuesday so we celebrated quietly at home and I made him dinner and we ate leftover pumpkin pie. I got him a new Wustoff bread knife so now he is just one knife away from completing his set! He got some other great things like a really gorgeous quilt from his Great Grandma (handed down from his parents) a hat from Old Course St Andrews, various books, and a beer-of-the-month membership from my parents. Happy 28th birthday lover!

I am having fun thinking of all things nursery related but am restraining myself from actually purchasing anything (other than the crib). We don't actually have a nursery space yet until we move (either find a place to buy or a larger rental). So I am dreaming for now! We went to purchase the crib and they had it in stock...but said you had to have a truck in order to take it! Goodness, how big IS it? We declined to take it then since we have nowhere to put it. We have to wait for the toddler rail we ordered anyway (8-12 weeks) so luckily the store is able to hold it all for us until we are ready. We went with the chestnut color, which looks like a really natural stained wood color. It is a very rich and nice color and I think I will be able to match other furniture to it. I plan to get some pieces off of Craigslist like a dresser and maybe changing table and stain or paint them. We will see when I actually have the time and space to do it!

I am feeling particularly chubby lately. This last month I have been eating like crap so there is no excuse, but I am still feeling the weight gain. Maybe this next month I will do better (ha...with Thanksgiving and Christmas...riiiight). Hopefully when my belly gets bigger and stretches and tightens up a bit it will feel more pregnant than chubtastic. Oh well, I will just embrace it and work my butt off once little "Thor" is here to fit into that bridesmaid dress in June (yikes)! Again, it's not like I am actually doing anything to change said eating/sedentary lifestyle habits!

As you can see, there is lots of excitement with the cats as well. This was all for a baked lays chip...SO exciting :) They didn't actually get to eat it...but it sure was fun to tease them!

We think you look nice and pregnant, just like you should. Sounds like it was a good week.
ReplyDeleteJack and Mr. Kitty are so funny with that chip. Such silly cats.
