Baby Signing Time

Signing Banana

We LOVE baby signing time. Pretty much have watched Volume 1 at least once a day for a few months. He has not had much interest in actually doing the signs until recently (except milk and food...but not for food...to tell us he wants to watch the dvd, sigh). This week I bought Volume 2 and my mom was in town and watching Noah and we had a sign explosion! Volume 2 wasn't very impressive, it is a lot slower than the first so he isn't very interested. But now he can sign a few things:

Milk
Food
Drink (ish)
Dog
Banana
Potty (but doesn't know what it means)
Cracker
Cereal
More
Time (as in "Time to watch Baby Signing Time")
Ball

Other cute things he does that are not from the DVD are shows us his belly, shirt up and all, head, nose, ears, tells us he is strong (arms up), and lots and lots and lots of kisses.

We have had a rough week attitude-wise so we will take any progress we can :)

Being grumpy and watching his show

Speaking of attitude...check out our sippy cup collection. Guess how many he likes? None. He will drink from any cup she gives him and will take cold milk at day care....but all of the above are offensive to him at home. And cold milk? How rude of us to even offer ;-)

He will use the Camelbak for water (and only water - middle of back row). He will take 2-3 sips from the Cars insulated one of milk (black top in back row). He will sometimes drink from the short straw one with handles (middle of front row)...but not until after he lets the milk warm up for a while and that cup is annoying in the heat because milk comes pouring out the straw if you let it sit and don't drink it (seems like all the straw ones do that in the heat). I tried THREE new ones yesterday. Fail x3.

He had a hard few days (heat, recovering from shots, being a grumpy toddler, etc.) that he was not really eating or drinking so I broke down and bought him some food packets just to get his belly full. I found them on sale at BRU for $1 each and should have bought more. He ate 3 in two hours yesterday. At least his little belly felt better!

Jordan's cousin's wife told me to try giving him a cup but he is only kind of ready. He loved it...but we had milk everywhere :) High chair cover went straight into the wash! With practice it could work but I am still sad we can't find a winning cup. At least I know I am not alone! Now if we could check the attitude at the door and have a nice Noah day all would be well in our house!

At the end of the day you get this...so its all ok :)

  2. Poo, I will try to be patient. We are on two+ months of milk in sippys and one month of cold milk in sippys. I hope he figures it out in the next two months so he will be ok with it for our trip to Europe!

We had good day with very few meltdowns :-)
