5 Months Old

New things this month:
-He found his voice...it is loud :)
-He has fully working hands now. By this I mean thumbs and a concept of space. Before his thumbs were tucked in and he could grab things with one hand but now he can see something and bring both hands together to grab. So cool!
-His feet exist...and his mouth has found them.
-He is really loving his jumperoo I got him and bounces in it like crazy. Soon he will be old enough for the doorway johnny jump-up.
-He is teething (yay?) and having a rough time of it. He will just randomly scream in pain...but pain meds at night and baby orajel during the day seem to keep it at bay.
-He is eating rice cereal and loving it. Starting sweet potatoes tomorrow which will be very exciting since they have flavor.
-He can see really far across the room and recognize where we are now.
-He LOVES "spitting". I don't know how to properly describe it other than he sticks out his tongue (the more spit involved the better) and blows to make fart noises/spit go everywhere. This is especially enjoyable if it is close enough to get some in your face, at which point he laughs and does it again. It is very endearing hehe. This happens at least once an hour if not for 10-20 minutes of that hour and even can be heard through upset cries, in his crib, in his carseat, while eating a bottle, you get the picture.
-This goes along with the above note....his personality. Obviously this kid is just a goofball! He is so silly and happy and just wants to smile and make people smile and laugh. Mostly this involves random noises and his spitting. I can see him being just like Jordan and being very talkative and social.
-He is almost rolling from back to front. If there is something near him that he really wants he will get himself almost all of the way over in order to get it. I don't think he really cares about the rolling process though and still doesn't have a whole lot of interest.
-Yesterday he was on his tummy and pulled his legs in...first moves towards getting up on his hands and knees. He is nowhere near but it was fun to see.
-He started daycare and is just the happiest baby in the world. Every day he gets a check mark for playful and one for happy. He is the oldest of three babies (others are 2 months and 4 months old). Oh well, at least one of us can enjoy it :) He is always excited to see me and wants to play when I pick him up so that helps.

Hope you enjoy the pictures from our little outdoor photo shoot!
