Week 8 - Raspberry

Baby's now the size of a raspberry! Baby is growing like mad, putting on about a millimeter every day and continuing to straighten out in the trunk. Though you can't feel it yet, baby is moving those little arms, legs, and (now only slightly) webbed fingers and toes like crazy.

Well, my (one) faithful reader reminded me to today that she has checked several times and no updates. Sorry mom, here is our little raspberry! I was not feeling so hot this weekend and failed to post an update. I will try to do better this week. I am doing good, continually telling more people because it is hard to keep a secret :-) Oh well, it is fun.

The weekend before last, mom and dad came to visit! We had already planned the visit before the raspberry was discovered but it was really fun to (gasp) go shopping! We bought some fun duck related things since they are gender-neutral. Duck feet! Everyone was pretty exhausted from either having company or just being 1st trimester and tired ALL the time...so we sat around and watched Tiger play golf most of the weekend. We did get a good walk to the beach in and a trip to Julian for some apple pie. YUM!

Last weekend we were planning on seeing Laura and Dan after their concert but I was in no shape to leave my dent on the couch, other than to visit the throne to extract the lack of food in my stomach! (sorry Laura, I wanted to come out!) Saturday we headed to Auntie Ann and Uncle Al's house for some tasty grilled dinner and a trip to Petco Park. Jordan won these amazing tickets 5 rows back from the visitors dugout...it was so fun to see real people playing rather than ants! The Padres played terribly, but it was fun regardless. Sunday we went to San Marcos and sat by Chad's pool, which is so much nicer than ours! It was fun to hang out since we had not seen Chad in a few weeks.

Today Jordan left for a few days in Iowa for an audit and tomorrow I head to Monterey for the day for work. Luckily it is just a day, but we will see how my stomach does with four flights in one day...three of them being "commuter" planes. Eek! I am bringing some granola bars and crackers to try to keep it calm... I also told my boss today. I was shaking I was so nervous but he was excited and very supportive and really willing to work out whatever is best for Jordan and I (and baby) when the time comes. Whew, I can sleep well tonight (until 4am when I have to get up and go to the airport)!

Not much else going on around here. I am entering the feeling fat instead of pregnant stage...can't wait for another month or two where its a bump instead of chubby bloat!
