2 months old

We have had quite the exciting week. Jordan left for business in Barcelona on Monday morning early. Since then we have had visitors every day keeping us busy. My dad was here both Monday and Tuesday night, Theresa and Chris were here Wednesday and Thursday and left this morning and Erika and the little girls came today! Noah got to go to the Wild Animal Park with Theresa and Chris...he did great! He was asleep the whole time in his stroller except when he woke up to eat. Good little bugger :)

Today (Friday) we got to go to the doctor for his 2 month checkup and get 5 shots and one oral vaccine. Man that was no fun. He has been pretty fussy since but I don't blame him I bet he doesn't feel good. Even "fussy" Noah is pretty good for a 2 month old so no complaints here. He got to hang out with all of his cousins tonight too which was very exiting!

He is currently: 23.5 inches (~75th percentile), 10 lbs 9 oz (~25th percentile) and head circumference of a little of 14" (50th percentile). Just as we suspected, we have a long lean little boy. He is gaining quickly though and filling out those little rolls daily! We just need him to start growing rounder in addition to longer! The nurse commented on how he had grown so much in length since birth too, go Noah! Maybe he will be like Uncle Ben. :)

As you can see from the pictures in his 2 month gear, he has definitely gotten bigger! Here is a recap of things he is doing now:

Socializing - He is smiling a LOT! He loves to hang out and then wait for you to pay attention to him then he gives a big 'ol toothless grin. He also does a lot of cooing. He loves to look at you and go "oooh ooooh ooooooooh" its adorable

Eating - He recently discovered that his tongue exists. Pretty exciting times for a baby. He loves to stick it out, chew on it, and use it to push the bottle away (the last is obviously my favorite...so helpful). He is still getting a 2 oz bottle as part of each feeding and now gets a 4 oz one at the last nighttime feeding. During the 4am (ish) wake up he only nurses partly because I am too lazy to get a bottle ready at that time and partly because he falls back asleep usually just nursing anyway. Whatever, it works for us. He must be eating enough now since he is gaining weight so well. I am still a bit sad that I can't solely nurse him, but seeing the number on the scale today made it all worth it!

Playing - He freakin loves his bouncer! He started off getting bored and upset and moving around but when he would be pissed off and kick he figured out that it bounced it and soothed him. Now he actually kicks on purpose in order to move around in there and is happy. He also loves staring at the toys attached as he kicks and they move which results in lots of smiling and cooing. Oh and I think pretty much every time he sits in his bouncer for more than 15 minutes he poops. Wish I would have known that a few weeks ago when he took a 4-day pooping hiatus haha!
He also loves to beheld up on your shoulder so he can look around behind you and take in the world.

Sleep - He sleeps a 6 hour stretch every night pretty much. Might have something to do with the 4oz formula bottle he gets each night before bed, but hey...I will take it. Also we are using the summer infant (?) swaddlers with the Velcro so it keeps his arms all tucked in. They have worked great for us at night (during the day I still just wrap him in his Aden and Anais wraps). After that he goes back down for about 1 hour and then is up, but 6 consecutive is fine by me :)

(my boys hanging out in bed...and Mr. Kitty was on my pillow and Jack was at the foot of the bed...)
