Week 24 - Papaya (again...)

Baby's skin is becoming more opaque as the fat starts to pack on. And, thanks to the formation of small capillaries, her newly thick skin is taking on a fresh pink glow.

Note: here are last weeks photo's. I had to wait until Jordan got home to be able to take them for me so they are more like 23.5 week photos...

Ok...got to go to another Dr. Appointment this week! All went well, I am right on track for growth, movement, etc, etc, etc. I also got to book my last two monthly appointments...as of 32 weeks (first week of February) I will be going every two weeks. Yikes, that seems so close! I did my glucose test also, the only bad part was the waiting room (small and a bunch of sniffly people). The test itself was NOT as bad as everyone says...really was just like a more sweet version of a flat soda. Got myself a straw and sucked it down in about 3 swigs then waited my hour. Hopefully I pass, both for the baby's health as well as me selfishly not wanting to go back for the three hour test...my attention span is not that long! Also I learned that if I pass then that is my last blood draw until the end, woo hoo! No more quest diagnostics waiting room (hopefully)!

(Sunday 12/13 - IVS Christmas Party)

Another great thing as that 24 weeks marks "viability week"...wikipedia's definition shows what I mean... "
20 to 35 percent of babies born at 23 weeks of gestation survive, while 50 to 70 percent of babies born at 24 to 25 weeks, and more than 90 percent born at 26 to 27 weeks, survive." Another milestone reached...now stay in there until at least full term (37 weeks) little one!!

We have had a crazy week. Jordan came home from New Orleans, both of us have been working hard, and are going through the process of buying a house. If all goes well we will have the keys mid-January and be able to start packing, painting, and watching people of the male persuasion move stuff for me (darn...I can't lift the boxes hehe). Last night we got to go to Jordan's company holiday party for a nice dinner at the Marine Room. We went there a few years ago and the food is amazing! We had to bring White Elephant gifts...I think there might be a little bit of Electric Reindeer wine involved :-)

Next weekend we are going to head out to Palm Springs to see the grandparents and parents (on my side) briefly and pick up my brother's fabulous old "hooded cradle" my parents dug out of the depths of the garage and cleaned up for little Thor. It will be nice to have a mini pre-Christmas celebration with my parents since it is not their year to have us! I will leave you with a fun survey I found...enjoy!
  • How many weeks?: 24 weeks 3 days
  • Weight gain?: 17 pounds...and I don't wanna talk about it...
  • How big is baby?: probably around 1.5 pounds and a little of a foot long
  • Maternity clothes?: mostly converted over. I have a few low rise pants that still kind of fit and a few loose shirts that still work...but elastic waist pants are amazing...
  • Stretch marks?: nothing yet...just old ones
  • Sleep?: going pretty well actually, only problem being the cats who know exactly when it is 6:30 am and remind me of such every 2.7 seconds.
  • Movement?: I don't feel it much during the day at work but when I get home and relax he moves all over the place!
  • Food cravings?: food in general...see above weight question :-) no real cravings though sadly
  • Labor signs?: nope, and lets keep it that way for a while!
  • Belly button in or out?: still in but stretching
  • What I miss?: energy and social situations that involve drinking (the social part not necessarily the drinking part...ok maybe that part too haha)
  • What I'm looking forward to?: Christmas!
  • Milestone?: making it to "viability"
Can't beat lazy Sundays at our place...Mr. Kitty in a box in a sun patch, and Jack being sleepy on the couch.
